Queensland is the home of many master-planned communities, one of the largest being North Lakes. It was built with bold statements, like every house would be 100m from a small park, 200m from a large park and no more than 400m from a bus stop.
The entire precinct was designed to have natural cool winds blowing off the lake, that would make a long term oasis for families. In recent years, Ikea, Westfield and a giant business district have all been signed off, creating 13,000 jobs for the area.
This is all 25kms from Brisbane City, and its also connected by the Mango Hill train station. For Sydney residents, that sounds quite close, but North Lakes is a valid satellite town outside the Brisbane and Gold Coast. Built entirely around family living, the area has become bustling with school and families, keen to change their living situation.
It also remains incredibly affordable, not yet effected by the boom in population. The Moreton Bay area, which includes North lakes, had one of the highest influx of interstate population during the last 18 months.
For investors looking to transition their investment into a PPOR (primary place of residence) or move to a new lifestyle, North Lakes and this entire Moreton Bay area should be reviewed as a far more cost effective alternative to the Sunny Coast, Gold Coast or Brisbane.
